Stove

We have an old assed stove in the house. It's a drop in. We're gonna buy a new one this weekend, but I didn't realize how expensive the drop ins are. Is it an enormous pain in the ass to switch to a conventional?

You will need to reconfigure the cabinets. So, most likely, yes.

I too was looking at this recently and can't understand why it matters. It looks like they measure the same??? No??
Token? Can you explain?:trampoline:

Dropin is built into the wall?

FWIW, I'm on the same range since 1979, a Kenmore.

I was thinking the stove was just a cooktop. Just the burners. An oven, to me, would be the thing you bake in. Maybe QCH can post a picture. Or Plu if she has a question about her specific situation.

A free standing range has a cooktop and an oven in one single unit.

We always called a stove with burners and an oven, a range, or just plain stove. I've not had a problem with my Kenmore range, so haven't had to research all the sophisticated variations.
