Do you think this years crop of receivers is better than last? Granted Steve Smith was and still is the best receiver of last years and this years groups but my question if you grade the receivers (WR and TE) as a whole are they better as a group. I think Hixon, LaFell and Ginn were average WRs who played well last year and cashed in. I'm hoping Avant and Benjamin as well as Hickson can complement Olsen and keep defenses from stacking the line

No, you're pretty much fucked in 2014, Paul.

Ginn isn't significantly better than Underwood, as a receiver, but you lose the return man value (what the plan is there, I still haven't a fucking clue). LaFell is better than Cotchery or Avant. He's a better catcher, blocker and more versatile than either one. Barring injury, Avant will likely play the Hixon role of special teams/cuckold 4th WR.

In other words, no.

I hate Gettleman. If he ever does anything great, I will say he did something great, but I will still hate him.

I don't think it has to be better. Last year's was better than people think and it was going to be hard to replicate that anyway. And it's not like Seattle had a stable of great WRs last year. The concern is that everything we've done on offense seems to hinge on the defense being as doofus-dominant as it was in 2013. I don't think that's realistic, but we'll find out soon.
