Fo those of you tired of 50 remotes like me... Check out the logitech Harmony Remote. I've been playing with it for about an hour and it's off da hook.

my brother in law has this for his satellite/etc hookup, should I ever have the nice TV and the surround stuff I'm getting one of these too
I have the same one. Honestly... It's not even close. I have a 400 disk DVD changer and I can upload a CSV file to the remote and it has a listing of all the movies on the remote. It will also download favorite channels and show listings and times (This is pretty much useless with digital cable but still pretty cool.)
You can press a single button to watch movies, listen to CD's, watch tv etc etc.

Sony Mobile Commander.

The badass one is $199 and can cover just about any piece of equipment.

I'd rather have the Harmony (and I do - the Harmony 688). ZERO macro programming required, operates TiVo's, Satellite receivers, knew the discrete codes for inputs and power functions for my plasma (which every remote I've seen otherwise has to have manually programmed with the hex codes), etc.

You can get the Harmony remotes from retailers (not just ebay) for $120 all day. http://www.valueelectronics.com for one.
