Okay I know some of you won't believe me but doesn't matter. Trgo recently entered an establishment in Blowing Rock and engaged in conversation with the owner. Points of the conversation:

1. They jerked him around with his contract at the last minute and that's why
he left.

2. The Julius Peppers situation is going to be a big mess because he doesn't
think he will sign the tender to play this year. He REALLY wants out.

3. Connor would have been starting over Diggs at some point in the season
had he not been hurt.

Taken with a grain of salt, but thanks for passing it along.

This particular business owner is a patron where my brother works. The most interesting part to me is Connor.

I remember scouting Posluszny in preparation for the '07 draft and wondering who the guy next to him was that seemed so much bigger and faster. Connor doesn't have PP's instincts, but certainly impressed me overall.

The statement about contract was contradicted by Trgovac, but there was a statement that the team had offered numerous guys one year contracts and that probably came with less of an increase (if at all). Around the league suddenly most guys are getting at most two years because of the CBA issues.

The thing I don't get is why a professional would talk about this with some random guy, but that's not for me to say. At any rate, I also don't know that if contract was the issue, it would be enough of an issue to make him reverse field and choose not to sign after choosing to sign. But none of the other "ideas" fit in that either.

The op doesn`t say, but Trgo and the owner could have been old friends.

Not really. Trgo must have a vacation house up there. Alot of these guys have homes in the mountains and even Richardson has one over the mountain around Lake James. He was purchasing some high end clothing and having to spend some time being measured and all. I guess he felt comfortable in his surroundings and was just acting like a normal guy.

I'd be surprised if Peppers sits out there year.

I remember last year he said he needed camp... to get ready for the season, rather than hold out for a new contract... but it was only to raise his value for a new deal some place else.

If he does sit the entire year, isn't he in the same boat next year?
