The movies that are right in-between big budget and independent.

I don't know how to classify my favorite movies except maybe variety and/or eclectic. They range from violent to heavy dialog.
Some examples are:
Casablanca
Pulp Fiction
African Queen
Manhattan
Dirty Harry(all)
High Plains Drifter(most of Eastwood's westerns)
The Crying Game
Dead Poets Society
I stopped going to movies about five years ago; when, IMO, the best parts of the movies were shown in their TV promos; and when you saw the (rest of the) movie, there was nothing there, so to speak. I got tired of having the feeling of being ripped off while walking out of the movie.
