My daughter loaded SIMs 2 and it took forever but then again it was 4 CDs. Anyway when she goes to launch it it gets this message. The computer used to have Roxio and another CD copying program on there but was removed. Why is this message coming up and where can I go to get the problem removed?

This a new one to me. Take some of that pirate software off your computer and try again.

Done, call me whacky but I deleted a good number of "aquired" software titles and went legit

sounds like it's making sure you aren't mounting a cd image instead of using the real CD... turn off anything that lets you mount disk images as virtual drives and try that....
