Katrina concert

I watched the concert and I was very impressed by everyone. I think the opening music "Ain't No" and the way the musicians did the New Orleans (stagger/shuffle) out to their places on stage was one of the coolest things I have seen. I will always remember that opening. I think I am in love with Nora Jones and the Divine Miss M. was awesome doing, "is that all there is". I wonder when the last time was she appeared live on TV was. I loved the little black woman in the funky hat that did, "for all we know". I'll bet she is a trip to be around.

Bravo to all.

The cause made it all "bearable." :) I've always liked Midler, think she a class act. How 'bout that tpt player/group doing "A Closer Walk To Thee?" I didn't catch his name, but daaaaaaaaaamn, that was great. The concert featured some bitching unknown tenor sax players, some very impressive players, really playing 'in the pocket'.
I don't particularly care for Wynton Marsalis, but he's to be commended for gathering some really fine musicians.
Aaron Neville's always good. But I thought his tune was not quite up to his standard, what he usually does.

Yeah that trumpet player was awesome. I have no idea why anyone likes Aaron Neville. A big dude with the high voice of Mike Tyson. I can't stand him, if he was going to be on for more than that one song I would have changed the station.
I also really liked that blond, Diane somebody who sat by the piano and sang. Hell of a voice.

Neville's good in his genre; you know, like, it'd be wrong to compare him to somebody like Tony Bennett or Ella Fitzgerald, et al. But he does use his voice like an instrument, which is commendable, IMO.

That's the first time you've heard Diana Krall?! :) You oughta be ashamed. heh She's all th' rage, ralley she is. Check out her "Live In Paris" cd.
