As soon as MCE supports HDTV (the Emerald release coming in August should), I'll be all over this. I've had TiVo for YEARS, and have an HD DirecTiVo now, but MCE with cablecard support for HD cable will just ROCK.

Dude...it's a PC in a nice case, meant to go in an AV rack. You can use it as a DVD player, CD player, MP3 server, satellite radio player, and about 100 other things that a PC can do. The case is super quiet, but otherwise it's all about the OS. you can do slideshows of your home pictures on the TV, etc.

Mine will be used 50% for TV, but 50% is music through the main stereo easily, pictures on the big TV, downloaded Interweb pr0n on the big screen, etc.

Look at it like this... Its a surround sound/DVD/Tivo Combo with a computer built in. It replaces like 3-4 devices you have in your living room and makes it in to one, but it also adds the capabilities of having a computer there as well. It comes with MS windows media center edition. If you hook your internet connection to it you can surf the internet as well. You can bring up TBR.com on you plasma screen. If you kids are having trouble in school, bring up something on the web, and point and show them on your big screen to help them learn. Use the hard drive in the machine to work as a video recorder. Rip DVD's to the hard drive and watch them without having to pull out each box. The possibilities are nearly limitless.
