What the fuck am I doing wrong. I bought the new router that allows for alot faster internet surfing on the laptop. I go ahead and think I am setting up a "secure" network by having a password (I think it was what I was creating. So I followed instructions on the Linksys Wireless G with Speedbooster giving it say a password of Apple. I then go to my laptop and see the new signal, great I think, I type in Apple to connect to this strong signal and this is what I see. :wtf23:

Do I need to run the CD from the Router on my laptop as well (not that the instructions tell me to do this. Run the CD again on the desktop and give it a different password?

'key' and 'password' are not the same thing. You got some kind of mix up, I think.

If that doesn't work, call their tech support, used to be free years ago, I assume it still is. Product manuel should tell you about the key.

If you have a Linksys router/accesspoint, then the tech support is very good - call them.

The key is a set of numbers generated by the router program which you must then transfer to your laptop. Go to your control panel and then to "wireless network" and set up the profile for your network and inter the encription key.

None of you asstards bothered to read the error message...I expect that of PantherPaul, but the rest of you...for shame.

"This can be entered as 8 to 63 ascii characters or ..."
Apple
12345

That would be less than 8...

So I take it by your condescending tone when I logged in Apple as my password it needed to be greater than 8 characters. Just run the software again and make it >8 characters. That and key isn't password
