Bonds retaliation

Barry Bonds has stated that he's getting thrown at too much. He has also stated that he does not feel that his pitchers are protecting him so he is going to take matters into his own hands.
Pitching coach Dave Rhigetti says he has no comment on the matter.
Dusty Baker wants to put it to sleep externally and handle it within the walls of the clubhouse.
I have mixed emotions on the matter. What do you guys think?

Bond's Pitching staff needs to stick up for him. They may or may not like him but they are team mates. You plunk us, we plunk you.

Bonds crowds the plate. He deserves to get hit. His pitchers realize that. Hes got that friggin body armor on so its not like he is going to get hurt.

One thing that I noticed is that when Roger Clemens all but said he was going to hit Bonds.
When it happened, nothing was said by Bonds. He even hit him where he stated he was going to, But when a younger pitcher hit him then the trouble started.
My point is this, if someone states that they are going to do something beforehand and does it, I know that it was premeditated and would take aggression moreso towards that person than someone that did not say anything and quite possibly did it accidentally.
I agree with Bear about pitchers protecting their fellow teammates but I do not agree with the logic that Bonds has taken in this scenario.

bonds coming towards that young pitcher was cheap. the thing that gets me is estes was fined for throwing behind clemens. clemens receives nothing for plunking bonds. it keeps getting weirder and weirder.

I think Barry should pull a Juan Marichial, and treat Clemens like a misbehavin' John Roseboro.

Most of this shit is the Umps fault anyway. They don't enforce the batter's box. As said above, Bonds and many others crowd the plate and are often "out of the box" when they get plunked. Pitching inside has become a lost art. You've got maybe four guys in baseball that do it consistantly. Clemens, Pedro, Schilling, and the Big Unit.

Baseball has let these guys wear more pads than your average NHL goalie up until this year. Most of the guys are back to wearing nylon pads while some guys like Bonds and Biggio are still using the kevlar after getting waivers from their doctors.

If Gibby was still around now, these guys would have shit stains in their unis. That fear is what allowed Ryan to continue to rack up numbers even after he passed 40. The batters knew he still could bring the heat and he wasn't afraid to come inside.

You look at the younger pitchers and hardly any of them know how to work inside. A few have the heater, but most use off speed and breaking stuff to get by. The Umps need to get their shit together and back the hitters off the plate and let the pitchers be able to compete.

Besides, I don't care if Bonds gets hit, He's a dickhead.
