Best team we've faced this year

A little history

This will be the third game between the franchises. The Seahawks won 23-17 in Seattle in 2004 and the Panthers won 26-3 in Carolina in 2000.

In their last game, the Seahawks broke a three-game losing streak as the Panthers lost their fifth in a row. Alexander scored two touchdowns and carried 32 times for 195 yards.

Delhomme threw two TD passes to Muhsin Muhammad. Steve Smith was out for the season with injury.

Delhomme was 19 of 36 for 248 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was 21 of 30 for 201 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Josh Brown kicked three field goals for the difference.

I'm not sold on Seattle. They play in the weakest division by far. Also played Eagles,Titans,GB, and Texans. 10 or so wins over teams with under .500 records I believe. They would have lost to NY if Feely hadn't choked 3 times. QB and RB are tough and they have a good team but I don't think their the toughest we've faced.

If we can hold Alexander almost as good as Tiki, and put some pressure on Hassleback, and blanket their secondary like we did NY, we should do well.

Limit our turnovers (broken record statement) and be patient on O (after all, we put 400+ yards and 29 points on the 'greatest d ever' last week), we should be able to score some points on them Sunday. I believe it is imperitive to our O AND D that we get ahead and stay there, even if it's just by a coupla points.

I worry after last week that our D can shut their O down. Hassleback > Eli and Alexander > Tiki and their O line > NYs.

We just have to put points on the board and keep up with them. I just don't understand how we shut out NY, yet allow 21 to Chics sorry O.

The key will be holding their offense in check long enough to et an early lead. That way they'll have to force the pass, and the D can concentrate more on one area.

I am thinking they may have perhaps the best O-Line faced by the Panthers this season. This game is won or lost in the trenches. D-Line needs to play lights out...

Same here... there were a few drives when our D was getting shredded by Rex Grossman. Seattle's offense is mcuh better than the two we have faced so far in the playoffs.

all due respect to the NFC top seed, but looking at who they played this year (NYG early likely their toughest opponent considering the time they faced them), who else have they played? I know they played Indy, but that was in the midst of Dungy's son, and them resting players. I ain't so sold on the Seahawks as being far superior to Carolina.

Yes, Alexander is nails, Hasselbeck does not suck, but they haven't seen really ANYONE'S best shot (at least someone that had a gun to shoot at them).

To me they have all of the technical skills to be the conference champ. But I think they lack some of the toughness based on who they play, where they are and what experiance they have in the big games.

The Panthers need to score early. Those damn crazy lumberjacks are loud as crap. I have not been to the new Seattle field, but it is built a lot like Husky stadium over on the lake and I have spent considerable time in that venue. Those wings over the stands are every bit as acoustically reflective as the inside of a dome. If the Panthers fall behind and keep the 12th man alive, it is going to be insanely loud.

That's my point, Solarte. If Feely hadn't choked the would have lost to NY. And I really believe after we got the lead Fox and Co. were not nearly as aggresive as at the beginning of the game. Part of his philosphy but if we get up on Seattle we need to hammer and then hammer so more. Their O is much better than Chicago's.
