I figured I'd post this to see if anyone has had this problem.
About two nights ago, my Xbox froze and I saw 4 red lights (RRoD is only 3 lights). When I looked it up it told me to wipe down my plugs that go into the back of the Xbox with a dry cloth. I did this and it worked fine. I played a few more games of Halo and was done. Last night I DLed CoD: W@W and it took about an hour. My Xbox ran for an extra 20 mins as I tried to put my kid down for the night.
I turned off my Xbox for about 20 mins b/c it was taking longer than I thought, and when I came back to play CoD my screen froze about 2 mins into a match. So I turned it off and tried again, and it froze about a minute into a match. I tried one more time and the samething happened. I thought maybe my DL was busted so I turned off my Xbox and back on and play Halo 3. I was on my second game, and the same thing happened.
Has anyone else had this issue? I never received red lights again. Everything I've looked up has said it is either an issue about overheating or not having enough airflow around it (which is possible), or that something is defective through a DL and that I should perform "system maitenance" or refresh my HD (AKA delete it and start from scratch).
Any ran into a problem like this? Any help would be appreciated it.
And I don't give a **** to hear about PS3 and how it hasn't screwed up for you, this is not the place.
