Of course we need an OT, and M Khalil is better than what we've had, but that's big money for what may be an injury liability. We'lol do something like this rather than keep worthless Funchess rather than scrapping him and pursuing someone like a Brandon Marshall? His contract isn't only half-million per year more than Kaliyah. And of course, any of a number of other productive FA's that have gone to other teams already. I haven't been thus far, but I'm feeling a move to the Expel Gettleman party coming on.

True, but listen, Kalil was going to get paid either way.

PFF can say he was worth 6 mil 2 years w a 2.5 bonus, but that's just not realistic. He was getting $$ from us, the Vikings or someone else. This is the market. And we have to pay to play, simple as that.

I truly feel with Matsko and his brother the competition and fire will be there, and his training will be in good hands. This is a risk, but it's a well calculated one I believe.

I don't disagree with you that Kalil was going to get paid, I just don't think we had to do it. Kelvin Beachum is still out there, and I bet he would have taken less than what we just gave Kalil, and has played a lot better over the last couple of years. That said, I do respect Matsko, and he certainly elevated Oher's play, so I'm hopeful he can likewise improve Kalil. It just sucks that we have to be hopeful for someone that you gave legit starter money to.

Or get fucking Whitworth. Who gives a fuck that he's 35? I'm trying to win now. I'll deal with 2020 when we get there.

I think Beachum is probably a better scheme fit than Whitworth (and is also a shitload younger FWIW). But, fuck Shula and his 1991 offense anyway.
