I bought a new one last week. It's pretty and I like the sound, but it's really loud. Has anyone ever modified a wind chime to quiet the sound just a tad? If so, how? And can it be removed later?

If it's hollow, try putting cotton balls up in it.
If not, maybe you could put some rubber type substance ie...type of paint, on it.
