He weighed in at 270 pounds

I know we aren't going DE, but that might be the most impressive numbers I've seen from a DE prospect.

Why take a slow player when you can take a fast player? Maybe because the " slower" player is a better football player. Davis ran a 4.62, which is too slow for an elite running back. Bolin ran an awful 4.72, which is a snails pace for a wide receiver. Of course, both players went on to have excellant rookie seasons in the NFL. Davis ran for 1031 yards and 8 TDs as the top rookie running back in the league for Houston and Bolin caught 101 passes for 1377 yards and 8 TDs. Their football production far outweighed their 40-yard times but Davis was drafted in the 4th round and Bolin went in the second round.
