Fox is smart like a Fox. So everyone knows that Winke is playing better than Peete. So, if Peete were to go down like Pennington or Vick would it have the same impact? Hell no!! If Peete were to fuck up, can’t he be replaced immediately? Hell. It’s possible to win with Peete. Although Peete has not been convincing, it’s impossible to determine what’s going to happen on opening day. If he starts, it’s OK. He can be pulled any time. The season is long. It’s the winning QB that is there at the end that matters.

the Rainman

Fox is like the Rainman, a savant idiot. Genius on defense, idiot on offense. Everything must be in perfect order and there will be no trying to score when we have the lead.

Fox doesn't want too look wrong either. Delhomme would start before Weinke anyway IMO.

I would hope that Fox would look past any kind of ego and play the guy who is deserves too play. Peete ain't that guy IMO.

Bottom line: If the Panthers win under Peete - he'll stay in. As soon as things start too go south - he'll be pulled quickly.

Win, win situation IMO.

Fox heeps Peete because there's still a preseason game to play.

>Okay, I'm really getting tired of the "Fox looking wrong" theory

He seemed to have no problem cutting Fasani, who was his project

He wasn't wrong about Weinke last year, he was right, he wasn't ready, Weinke said so himself

He brought in Brez to replace Jeno James, but Brez hasn't won that job yet either, so would Fox be wrong there?

And if he brought Delhomme in to be a starter, and he can't beat out Peete, is he wrong again?

Besides, I wouldn't move a 3rd stringer 2 spots after 3 quarters of football and 1 TD against 2nd & 3rd stringers either

Weinke will get PT eventually this season, whether it's game 1 or game 8, he just needs to be ready for when he does, and make the best of it.

Why don't we wait untill the opening day starter is announced? Then I will be the first to call him an idiot or egotistical.

You guys are unbelievable!

Before the preseason John Fox was the savior, the allmighty coach. Now preseason is underway and Weinke plays alot better and Fox is an idiot? Give me a break.

I know I've said Weinke might start, but I don't know jack. Fox knows alot more.

Fox will do what he did last year. Start who he believes gives them the best chance to win.

Last year Peete did give us the best chance to win, not so this season. New season; an entirely different scenario.

Last year our John Fox D gave us the best chance to win along with a so, so QB who was better than the other 2 QBs. Our O was next to last. Do you really think that no change is in order on the offense. In preseason our #1 offense has looked like a carbon copy of last year. It is far different going from 1-15 to 7-9 on the back of an excellant D than going to the playoffs with no offense. Things have changed as far as our ability to improve goes.
