Hoover took a wicked shot in the back because Jake air-mailed that one near the goalline. A similar hit in high school caused me to have back spasms for a good while, but Hoover is a tough SOB and appears to be fine.

Can someone explain to me why Jake is sailing all his passes this year? Have his mechanics (what little he had) gone to complete crap? Is he throwing off his back foot because he can't get more than 2 seconds of pass protection? What's the deal? I know he's been prone to that over the past few seasons, but he usually settles down after a while (usually after he gets hit).

He tends to throw off his back foot under pressure which will make the ball sail.
Kerry Collins suffered the same problem after Romanowski broke his jaw. The difference is that Kerry threw off his back foot under pressure or not for 2 seasons after the jaw break and it more or less ended his carreer.
Don't know what Jakes excuse is.
