Everyone is hating the fuck out of the falcons right now. They're written out of the playoffs almost entirely, the Mora Sr. / Vick comments, yada yada yada.

This is bad fucking juju. If the Falcons beat the Saints, they're 1/2 game out of the South if we win, and the lead the south if we lose.

I wonder what they'll start saying if that shit happens?

Not to mention, we don't do very well against them - and we play them in ATL on xmas eve.

Those last 2 games are the clincher - 2 away games in a row to win the division, on 2 holidays. It's gonna be an exciting 6 weeks.

After NO atlanta has Was, TB, Dal, Car, Phi
nawlins finishes with SF, Dal, Was, NYG, Car

Panthers have Was, Phi, NYG, Pit, Atl, NO
All our guys have to do is take care of business and three (maybe four) rivals should knock each other down for a position in the post season. We could lose to Pit and still easily win the division and a bye if we win the other 5 games.
Not until looking closely at this today have I realized what a legitimate shot the panthers have at winning the division and possibly getting that second bye. :thud:

That's the NFL for you. After two weeks, some people were already previewing a Falcons/Bengals Super Bowl. Things can change dramatically from week to week. Personally, I'm just thankful that we've worked our way into first place after such a poor start to the season.

It's a six game season now. If we can go 4-2, that will likely be enough to extend our season, and possibly win the South (as long as those losses aren't against Atl and/or NO). 5-1 may be good enough for a bye, depending on what Dallas does.

They were awful against Cleveland and apparently worse against Detroit. Their defense is in shambles (especially the secondary). They don't seem to be running the ball as well as they were in the first 6 weeks of the season. Vick is as streaky as they come...and he could certainly come out firing on all cylindars this week. But I do not think they have a chance to go 5-1 the rest of the way to make the playoffs. Not with that schedule.
