What happened to the 7th inning stretch?

With all due respect to the memory of those who perished on 9/11 and to those who are fighting in their memory and for us, can we have the 7th inning stretch back, please?

A year later and there is still that solemn moment during the 7th. When was the last time we heard 'Take me out to the ballgame?'? If baseball insists on remembering 9/11, do it before the game or with a moment of silence. Sing God Bless America -- which should be our anthem, btw - when you sing the Star Spangled Banner. Not during the game.

Can we try to live a somewhat normal life now?

I agree completely. Some of the teams have gone back to singing "Take me out to the ballgame", I know the d'backs and cubs have...just depends on who you're watching.
