With the signings of Kemoeatu and Hartwig, what do you guys see as needs for the draft. Actually, what type of player will we go after in the first round?

well, there's a thread about five posts down that deals with this, but now our pressing needs are safety, LB, and WR/RB, of which I'd expect we sign one safety or LB, one WR or backup RB, and draft the other two.

Thanks for the links to the other threads, but I was pretty much asking for what position will we be going for in the 1st round. I kinda doubt that a back up RB will be a first round pick or a Center as suggested in the other threads (now that we have Hartwig).

I know most people will say best available, and I agree...to an extent. I doubt we would pick Sinorice Moss if he fell to us. We don't need another small fast WR. Some mock draft have us taking a TE. Do you think we would take a TE with the #27 pick?

I knew there was a link where we discussed this that I was missing. It just had a non-descript name:

That thread got derailed pretty quickly, though, so I'll say again that I think Bobby Carpenter is a possibility and one I would be very happy about. A big WR would make sense, but this is a bad draft for that. Safety could be addressed, although I don't see anyone at the bottom of the first round that I'd like. That leaves BPA.

Draft needs at #27: OLB, FS, TE, WR

Ryans, Carpenter, Sims at OLB
Simpson and Darnell Bing at S
Pope at TE
Chad Jackson at WR

any one of those 7 and I'm satisfied.

We're thin at several positions at the moment. Although we have bodies filling many roster spots, I frankly don't see many of them being able to contribute.

Excluding our UFAs and RFAs we're stuck with NFLE guys and fringe players at several roster spots. Once you break it down, it's frightening. The OL aside from C, LB, S, and CB in particular. RB and WR could use upgrades also, but may be overlooked in the draft because of greater needs elsewhere.

No, not from my perspective anyway. Right now (assuming WW is gone) we need starters at both OLB spots. Thomas Davis would fill one, but we need someone else to fill the other.
