WCCP's Dan Scott vs. Packman (8/20)

Did anybody catch the little fight between WCCP-FM's Dan Scott & Packman today on PRIMETIME? Reportedly, Dan took some personal shots against Packman this morning on his show. Some of his listeners then e-mailed Packman about it; at the 3pm hour he then demanded that Dan come on the air to apologize O-R he would take PRIMETIME off of WCCP at 4pm. I missed the part where Dan came on the show shortly after 4pm to apologize, but Packman didn't think the apology was good enough so he pulled the plug (it sounded like they were off in the Upstate of SC for about 20-25 mins.). WCCP's GM finally came on and I guess he ended apologizing for Dan because they were back on the air around 4:30-4:35pm. So what do you think guys, was this a legitimate argument O-R was it just another way to hype up the WCCP/WFNZ Softball Game this coming Friday in Adnerson, SC? It would be nice to know what Dan exactly said which 'pissed' off Packman . . .

I voted no LarryD . . . When I first heard the argument (3:15pm), I thought it was legit. But then when I heard Pack say 'We might not go to the softball game Friday night' [adlib] that's when the words 'Publicity Stunt' flashed on . . .

I've softened a little on Primetime but since I work around Clemson University roughly 3 months a year and have to listen to WCCP when I am there I can say with great ease, Primetime is by far the best thing they have on air. Big Moe's morning show is without a doubt the worst excuse of a sports radio show BAR NONE. He is a tub of shit, Clemson ass kissing moron. He gets half of his material off of Sporting News Radio that plays just before his show.

i agree -- prime time (for all it's ham) is the best thing out there. i don't even get sports talk radio here but for 11 hours a day. blech.

It's amazing that anyone would use information off SNR's show, because frankly, Kevin Wheeler can't hold Bob Kemp's jockstrap except for Baseball.

I need more details, because at 4:45pm, when I arrived at my kids daycare, Packman had pulled the plug again and was waiting on an apology from Dan Scott.

Dan Scott came on a tad after 4:05pm and talked to Packman; Instead of apologizing for what he said on the morning show, he talked more smack about them beating WFNZ Friday night in Anderson in their charity softball game. This is when Packman 'pulled the plug' on WCCP. About 10-15 mins. later, their Station Mgr. came on the air and tried to negotiate a deal w/Packman; but Packman wouldn't 'put the plug' back in unless he had an explicit apology from Dan Scott. The first caller Packman took after this exchange was from the Upstate and he said that they were still on the air down there, though I guess he 'pulled the plug' again going into the 4:20pm break . . . WCCP got PRIMETIME again at around 4:35-4:40pm . . .

the whole thing is staged...Sorry but I dont think Mark Packer calls the shots on cutting off radio stations. I'm sure WCCP pays to have Packs show broadcast. If it was real and I was the owner of WCCP, I would be contacting a lawyer. Bet Pack would not think it was too funny then.
