Black&Black
Delivering Smiles
I've been trying to fit in some offseason film study, as much as I possibly can. In part because I want to see more of Poe, and in part because I want to know the enemy a little bit better. Here are a few observations so far:
- Trying to make Beasley into a linebacker was fucking dumb. So many times I've seen him just standing out the flat in passing situations. What the fuck? They're moving him back to end, which should suit him better.
- Poe is disruptive. Atlanta tended not to use him in nickel, but when he's on the field, he's a wife stretcher. He routinely walks weak white centers into the backfield. It's a great pick up for Luke, if Luke's brain can cooperate.
- Atlanta really needs a hammer for short yardage and goal line. I think Patrick DiMarco may have been a bigger loss than they anticipated. The deaf dude who lead blocks for them now is pretty useless.
- Clayborn is a big loss for the defensive line. I know the bulk of his sacks came in one game, but he's a good player.
- Nobody goes to their home games. It's hilarious. You get a great perspective of this on the coaches film, since every play is preceded with a shot of the scoreboard. Atlanta is by far the worst fan base I've seen yet, even with a brand new stadium, and a pretty good team. What a fucking shithole.
