MORA GETTING SICK OF VICK?

Word around the league is that new Falcons coach Jim Mora quickly is tiring of quarterback Michael Vick's "I'm hurt/I'm not hurt" routine.

In fact, it's getting to the point that some league insiders are openly wondering whether the Falcons will turn the team over in due time to rookie Matt Schaub, one of the most highly regarded college quarterbacks entering the 2003 NCAA season. Injuries marred a potential Heisman run and dropped him into the third round of the draft.

As one scout told us, "Vick is a talent but has a low pain threshold. I don't think the Falcons will move him, but if the aches continue and Schaub shows he can get it done, down the line you never know."

Vick was a late scratch from the Falcons' most recent preseason game due to tightness in his right hamstring. He has thrown a total of nine passes in his first preseason working with the West Coast offense.

Are we looking at possibly the biggest bust in football? He has nothing of note except his astonishing ability to run. That in time can be defeated by injuries or schemes. We never were able to overcome him with schemes but Baltimore took him out and just may have taken his best asset away permenantly. If he is left with his skills as a throwing QB then he becomes average to below average. The west coast O also requires a QB that has way more smarts than he appears to have. The last two years that team was designed around his strenghts and they rose and fell with him and so did their coach. Mora has no ability nor desire to do that. I say monumental bust on the horizon. All the Vick whorshippers will have a coniption fit. Much stress in the Falcon camp?

Where did you find this TP? I saw this posted last night (falcon forum i think) and the posters there ripped the guy for not offering a source, in essence accusing him of making shit up.

I'd love to believe it but if there is no source other than a possible Schaub/cavalier fan trying to stir up some stuff then there probably isn't much to this.

It didn;t say anything more than speculation.

But I'd like to add that I specualted last week that Mora Jr's. hardest job will be to get rid of Vick and have the franchise admit the whole thing was a mistake. I don;t think Vick can be a passing qb, and i'f he's not a passing qb, he's just a quicker Randall Cunningham, but I don;t think he's that smart.

Vick has thrown 9 passes in WCO this pre-season.

Yup, if he was smarter he might be a great QB

If he was more durable he might be a great RB

Michael Vick could be in the remake of The Wizard of Oz

He's just another tweener with a limited future :D

Tell that to Joe Theisman

I would love to say that right to his face and wait for the reaction :saywhat:

think he'd take a poke at me?

That would be one of the highlights of my life, to bring Theisman to blows in defense of his hero

I might have to have an account of the event put on my headstone.)

Hmm. Maybe I took my took my dose of STFU too early regarding Vick. I had said he was a bust from the beginning, then recanted when he beat Favre at Lambeau in the '02 playoffs. Maybe I was a little hasty... :)
