Me thinks the DB is picking a school where he'll play instantly, hopefully shine and springboard into the NFL a year early. After all the Heels have a few top name defensive starters in the NFL.

Nah, I was thinking Julias Peppers, Vonnie Holiday, "LT", & Brandon Spoon who played three seasons at UNC with current Bills LB Keith Newman ...and a long list of Tar Heels linebackers that have been NFL draft picks in the last decade; the list also includes Dwight Hollier (D-4 Dolphins, 1992); Tommy Thigpen (D-5 Giants, 1993); Mike Morton (D-4 Raiders, 1995); Eddie Mason (D-6 Jets 1995); James Hamilton (D-3 Jaguars 1997); Brian Simmons (D-1 Bengals 1998); and Kivuusama Mays (D-4 Vikings 1998).

I don't follow Wolfpack recruiting, players, etc. I do enjoy watching them play more since Chest got to town, but still a tarheel fan first.

Last year, AJ Davis commited to UNC about a month before signing day. When signing day got here, Davis signed with NCSU. Committed means nothing.

Good point. by the way, tarheel fans erase guys like that from memory. Anyone that breaks a committment like that will ultimately land in jail....
