TV ON THE RADIO

I am guessing they/he are/is black now but had no clue before this thread. They sound like white boys or that they are catering to whitey.
 
I admitted probably in the this moment thread that part of the reason I liked them was because it was cool to hear some brothers' take on that type of sound. The big guy with all the hair plays guitar and bounces all around at their shows. That's just not somethin' I've seen or heard a lot of - brothers playin' indie rock.

I wouldn't take it as far as not liking them, but I do admit that they have a novelty factor similar to what Living Color did 15 years ago.
 
to me it's not so much that it's black people. It's that it's black voices over that type of music that makes it quirky and good. If it was all about white boys it'd be too geeky electronica.

It's still hard to get into the whole album, but it's a unique sound.
