I played high school ball with his father...so that makes me feel quite old. he did ok...made a mistake on one punt that put us on the 1 yard line. but overall caught the ball clean and showed some explosiveness on one return.

remember...the most important part of a punt return is the change of possession.

For Guy, it was fortuitous. He always dreamed of playing here while growing up in the shadows of Bank of America Stadium. His position coach at Louisville, former Panthers quarterback Jeff Lewis, lobbied for him all spring.

Lewis said he cornered Panthers general manager Marty Hurney at Louisville's pro day, and implored his old boss to give him a chance. "All Trent needs is an opportunity," Lewis said. "I told Marty he was definitely their kind of player."
