The Arizona Cardinals have announced the team has signed free agent LB Lester Towns, who was out of football during the 2004 season.

One of my favorite player stories, I'm at the Panthers Caravan tour stop in Wilmingtin about three years ago, Towns, Morabito, Hetherington and Damien Richardson. Good Humor truck pulls up and the Damien and Lester head over for an ice cream. The dude rings them up and offer to pay, they naturally say. "no but thanks anyway" and I tell them "come on, this is one of those things to tell my grandchildren some day" with that they chuckle and allow me to pay.
