it'll be nice having a long-tenured DC as our DBs coach. The upside to Perry was that we were ridiculously good on 3rd down D, which had no small part in Marshall being on board. Lewis is a good coach; I don't know if I buy him being the scapegoat for the team not liking Coughlin, but he's not an exceptional coordinator. He's a good coach, though, so I think we've done well.


The thing that's bothered me about Perry being gone is that, even though he's the primary position coach, it was Gilhammer that's safeties coach.

Yep, I wondered about Gilhammer too. Still do.
 
He is an experienced guy who at one time seemed to be on track to be a HC. I think he is a good add. I am still kinda surprised the Perry was let go considering that our pass D was not that bad and Lucas was hurt a lot. I believe this is an upgrade for us though.
