Pat you've said that you don't believe that the Panthers will have Fox back next season and that you don't see a brand name coach coming in either. So could you throw out a few names you would expect to make the short list? Also, do you see Delhomme on the roster next season or he a release waiting to happen?

My guess would be a rising OFFENSIVE coordinator. When you fire a coach, you usually go with his opposite. Fox has been all about defense. So I say get an offensive guy in there because he's going to have to develop a new QB. Just nothing more than a thought here, but what about Denver OC Mike McCoy? He was with the Panthers for like six or seven years.




That would be totally awesome.

fucking awful, Pat. You were here when he came aboard in 2000. Granted I wouldn't necessarily expect for a sportswriter to remember every third-tier assistant that came through here but you tend to figure on paying attention when that third-tier suddenly becomes a position coach when the team's on its third offensive coordinator in ten months.

He was here nine years. I can't find evidence he did anything. I'll give him credit in that as "passing game coordinator", after he left we got worse. Though we were getting worse in the last half of last year, and that's pretty much a "x = Jake" equation.

What's he doing for Denver? Not calling plays, that we know. What else? He's running practice on offense? Maybe. You know McDaniels isn't over there telling Nolan what to do. Guy got an open invitation to keep looking around and took it, and was lucky enough to find a young coach with an offense we happen to have the same playbook from that needed a hand.


Or the short answer, Pat Yasinskas has been up this guy's ass for five years now and this is a terrible fucking idea. I could've left it at that but the rest needed to be said.

the best part is that McCoy probably wouldn't make any changes. Guy would keep the entire staff the same. Probably would plead to keep Jake. Couldn't fire Crossman.



The whole thing sounds like a great way to get Raheemed.


Anyway, Jerry Richardson is a receiver. Old as that ************ is. That was his trade back in the day. And he's never interviewed a coach with an offensive background. Just FYI.

The best part is he's been having this 'thought' annually since about 2006 and now he plays it off like it just struck him.
