The Defense... what would you do now?

Frankly at this point I think a solid corner is a HUGE need, and now that they've let Deon get away I think they have to take a legit look at Vincent and Taylor. Those two are probably the best to cornerbacks still available. Personally if it me this is what I do.

--I PRAY that Morgan stays healthy. Armstead is better depth than we've ever had and provides a HUGE insurance policy for Fields. If Mark can come back even close to his performance before his cancer diagnosis and Morgan can stay healthy this group will arguably be one of footballs best.

CB-Troy Vincent or Bobby Taylor
SS-Mike Minter
FS-Dante Wesley
--This is just what I'd like to see. I think drafting a rookie in the second round would also be a good idea. The reason I move Wesley to FS is because (1)He's a solid hitter and seems like he could excel as a safety and (2) He looks better than the other options (Tillman, Richardson, Cooper) and he's probably as good as any other options available on the free agent market at this point and frankly that in itself is a bit sad too. The reason for Vincent or Taylor is that if you're gonna have an inexperienced safety in Wesley you'll need an experienced corner to be there to cover up his fuckups. Also he could teach Manning and the rokkie that would be playing his first year at nickle to learn.

This is just my opinion on the situation and its the only way I can truly see this secondary looking remotely competitve this coming year.

Our front seven is looking to be better than last year. who knows, maybe we even pickup a LB 3rd round or something- that would be great. i like the idea of wesley back there- physically he can play that position and doesn't back away from contact- his instincts are something i have no feel on, due to his minimum time on the playing field. i dont think we make a play for taylor or vincent, i'm thinking we draft that as a need spot.

Furthermore I think we SERIOUSLY need to get Moose resigned to a new 4 year deal to help the cap money... we then need to restructure Steussies deal to drop his yearly number and have some of it turned over into bonus money... this could realistically free up a chunk of cap change.

It's not Grant. It's a trend. THey didn't try to disrespect one player with a bad contract, they disrespected everybody not willing to sign for the bare bones offer.

Plus they're not talking to these guys, they're signing what's on the southern side of the barrel. They won't talk to these guys, must be saving up those minutes. No way do they make a play to get as much money as it'd take to put Vincent in, which right now I'd still put at around $3-3.5 mil.

Round 1 - Derrick Strait (CB)
Round 2 - Jason Shivers (FS)
Round 3 - Demorrio Williams (OLB)

our front 7 is solid, our o-line can get it done- IMO. the need areas are 2ndary and wr, followed by OL/TE. i think getting a definite starter in the 2ndary versus two depth players would be more beneficial.
