We know how to be loyal to a shitty team.

Sunday afternoons and evenings are rough. Fantasy football becomes more important.

There is NO national coverage of the Panthers. They exist only in our local media.

By Wednesday, denial and optimism sets in.

By Sunday morning, the team, with nothing to lose, will overcome its shortcomings and whip ass.

and the draft and free agency can fix everything. :D
There's always this year. Thelt's about ready to piss me off with his numerous times this year where he's just decided the season wasn't holding his attention. Fuck that shit - there are 11 more games this year and damned if I'm just going to let that wash. But then again I talk draft more than just when it's convenient and when the french resistance has set in.

well, it's our lot in life as a team. We went overboard with the linemen picks, so then we decided, fuck it, James was as good as Gross so let's go get the cheapest, worst linemen we can find and use them.

Which means we'll have missed the point completely and will go back to grabbing a bluechip tackle and reaching for a guard. Honestly, I feel like a 3rd or 4th round lineman every draft can get the job done. Wharton, right now, has room to grow, and part of the idea of "every draft" is that you stop chasing needs and you start building.

But at that point you haven't the huge needs every two years and you're not spending impact on blocking. Hoover was undrafted, James was a 6th, and Wiggins was a waiver pickup, and damned if those guys didn't lead block like their lives depended on it. We did poorly with what we have, and yet it's not hard to build a fine line on non-blue chip talent.
