If you're going to gate the hall of fame based on how much people suck up to you (after their career mind you) you're not being a steward of the the history of the game you're being a petty dick on a power trip.

Yep. The reaction of the voters is the most offputting part. Snobby, sanctimonious asswipes. The HOF is a popularity contest - a glorified Pro Bowl for people who no longer matter. All of these writers act like they're The Order of Maesters. It's pretty gross.
