Still looking for a QB

Even after all this time I still can't get Delhomme's performance out of my head. I can never look at him again with any respect. He just isn't the guy we that is going to lead us to a championship.

With that said...I am just throwing this out there. Would Kurt Warner be an option for us? I think he would be a great fit. That would allow us to draft a QB and groom him to replace Warner when he retires. He is much more accurate that Del Homey.

I know its a long shot, but I think he would be great for us

Warner has said explicitly that he will play for Cardinals or no one, so no he isn't an option.

it's a solid year for backup-level guys, there are a ton of QBs on the market that could sit for two years or so and possibly earn the next job.

Thats not true. He said on NFL live that he would be receptive to any team that is a good fit for him and his family. So its not just the Cards or retirement.

Delhomme, McCown, and Moore are all under contract through 2009. The Panthers might make a late round pick to compete with Moore, but probably nothing more than that. This is a nice market to pick up a QB, but unfortunately Fox is stubbornly committed to Jake. For that matter, Peppers' tag makes it even more likely that the team will eventually decide to extend Jake in order to lessen his cap charge. That might not necessarily mean that he'll stick around (see: Muhsin Muhammad circa 2004), but increases the chances.

It's been nice to not have people ignorantly defending Delhomme anymore (although that will change as we get farther from the 1/11/09 debacle), but the sad reality is that Fox isn't even willing to create some competition. It is what it is, so I just have to hope that Jake finds a way to be better.

He's changed his tune then:
Is it Arizona or retirement? "You know that's really what I'm leaning towards. You never want to say never... that I would never go and see what else is out there and see if there's a great situation for me to go in and succeed. I think you look at the situation and look at the fact that I probably only have a couple of years left maximum... and you don't want to go and start over, you don't want to have to rebuild. You want to be able to be a part of something you're comfortable with, where the pieces are in place to be successful... and you know I don't want to move my family. Everything indicates that's what it would be...Arizona or retirement and making sure the pieces all fit to make that decision. I just would never want to say that I wouldn't explore anything, I wouldn't look at any other options if there was something else out there that fit better. But right now in the back of my mind, that's what I'm leaning towards."

Considering Arizona is a pass first offense loaded with weapons I don't think Kurt would consider us a 'better fit'

If you are right and Fox is unable to recognize that Delhomme needs to be challenged for the starting role or be replaced all together, it is going to be similar to how Cowher hung in there with Kordell Stewart

As for our QB situation, is has become very clear to me that,,,, it is what it is.

This is one topic that has truly been beaten squarely to death for the past several years now. We all got sick watching that playoff game this year, but I notice you fail to mention the fact that Jake actually sucked out loud 2 other games during the regular season, but he got breaks on those games because we still managed to win against shitty teams.

Like Collin said, as long as we got Fox we got Jake,,,,,, but Collin as intelligent as you are, you don't really believe Jake can "find a way to be better",,, do you?
