>>>Smith didn't catch his first pass until late in the first period. When he did, he proceeded to kick the ball 30 yards up field. Several Patriots pointed at the rolling ball and requested a penalty, but none was forthcoming.<<<
What’s the feeling on this? Should he have been penalized? Aren't refs normally going to call an unsportsmanlike on that? Poole definitely should have been flagged for that take down out of bounds, and I was surprised that Smith did not completely lose it right there. He passed that test well enough, but what is with this kicking crap? Last year he kicked a player . . . maybe he’s just going to take his anger out on footballs this year.)
One more thing - I hope he is able to refrain from talking smack prior to our regular season games. Maybe he got that out of his system for a while with that Poole foolishness. I hope he is "grown up" enough to reach the top of that stack o' cash he just got. What do you guys think? Has Steve seemed mature enough so far this year, or has he maybe lost some control since the super bowl?
