We have lost our season opener under Fox three times in five years. The two wins were by the narrowest of margins, once thanks to Jake's heroics with Proehl and the other a defensive slugfest with Baltimore.

The good news is that we have never lost the second game of the season under Fox and some of those wins were pretty lopsided.

I think we will be fine. Our defense starts slow every year for some reason.

I wish I could share your optimism but left tackles do not grow on trees. If Wharton is done, we are in big trouble.

Gross or Wahle can play left tackle for us. It will hurt to lose Wharton but we can over come it. It might have been a good idea to let Meadows attempt a comeback with us afterall though....

If I played Butler I would not play him at LT. I am not sure who the Vikings have at RDE, maybe we could get away with playing him but I would think it would be better to have the best guy available at LT and that is probably Gross or maybe Wahle.

I had that thought too. I wouldnt play Butler right away though. But he's an option down the line if things continue to look bad.

I can't believe we traded up to get a guy in the top 100 who's too weak to see the field for a year. :banginghe

we also traded up for RMJ. Anyone else? Is it just me or has our drafting AND our FA moves kinda sucked recently? I sure as hell wish we had acquired guys like Abraham, Jackson, Gandy, and Milloy. Hell, I would love to try their #55 at MLB instead of our #55. I would gladly take Gandy to fill our gapping hole at LT, and Jackson over Kemo at this point, and Milloy over ANY of our current safeties. Based on the comparison so far I would also take Norwood over Williams etc etc etc. Shit they have just done a much better job of loading up than we have apparently.
Fox blames it on poor execution . . . seems more like poor talent evaluation right now to me :imagestor
