Moved some money from a fund into a MM account today. Mainly due to a desire to have a safe pile of cash in case the recession adversely affects my cashflow ( which it already has ).

I hate doing it, but it's been a nice rally this week and I figure now is as good a time as any. I actually feel much better having some cash around. I have enough liquidity to weather a pretty good storm - and I would not be surprised if we have a pretty good storm.

First time I've sold any stock / fund / equities in about 7 years. Feels real weird.

I think you got called a moron loser for trying to time the market. I sold shares because there's a chance I might need cash.

Funny, they have a rule that if I want to buy any of the fund I sold shares in for the next 60 days, I have to do it in writing. I guess people actively trade find shares ( lol ) and they wanted to curb that.

MANY funds have surrender fees - if you sell within x days of buying, you sacrifice x% for doing so. Day trading funds...people are nutty.

My employer has started doing that with 401(k) purchases. I'm guessing this is pretty typical of most employers that don't want people changing their plan every day trying to time the market.
