Skins

Brunell really went downhill about halfway through last season. Looks like he kept falling.

Not a Skins fan, but I love the way they play defense. Brunell played fairly well down the stretch, but the wheels did come off in the playoffs.

Is Portis injured? I just tuned in.

Games 1-8: 90.3 qbr, 1781 yds, 12 td, 3 int
Games 9-16: 80.2 qbr, 1269 yds, 11 td, 7 int

Plus he didn't have a 200 yard game after week 10.

Looked like a possible shoulder separation for Portis. He was making a tackle off an embarrassingly bad interception from Brunell.

Still not bad, though. Not as good as the first half. He did have a few real crappy games sprinkled in. They won't have much of a shot if the Portis injury is long-term.

No 200 yard games in 7 straight games is pretty bad. Your qb rating will stay decent if all you do is dump off. And I don't think Portis' injury is that serious. I'd expect him to miss the preseason at most.

They ran the ball more in the second half. After their loss at NY, Portis carried the ball no less that 21 times a game. They also had five games in which he ran it no less than 26 times. That, and it became tougher for the passing game once teams figured out that Moss was only deep threat at WR. So guys like Cooley and the rest of the wideouts became more important.

The lack of 200 yard games is concerning, but Brunell was pretty much doing what was being asked of him. Didn't perform as well from mid-October on, but I dunno if I would call it bad.
