Saving pics

OK, something has gone haywire in IE and I can't get any pics to save as jpegs now, they will only come up as bitmaps. The save in Firefox as jpegs, but it's annoying me that I can't figure this out. It just started happening recently and I haven't changed any settings. WTF is going on?? Here's the thing I get every time I try to save a pic - any ideas how to fix this? I've looked at everyting in internet options and folder options. I'm stumped.

oh jesus i have had this happen to me lots of times. MOST of the time it seems to fix itself but it REALLY drives me nuts when it happens. i never change any settings and mike claims it never happens on his harddrive.
