Saints get new turf in their Dome

Sounds like the stuff that's becoming increasingly popular. It's called "Momentum turf" in the Superdome:

Players tested several different types of cleats during the workout as they got a better feel for the surface, which had installation completed earlier this week. The field is blended with 70 percent ground rubber and 30 percent sand amid fibers that are two-and-a-half inches high. The combined infill covers about two inches, leaving one-half inch of fibers exposed.

So, hopefully, that's one less dangerous dome turf for road games.

Ummmmm, didn't they install the new turf midway thru last season? Or did they change it again ? ?

Atlanta changed to something similar last year, and a few other dome teams. Off-hand, I don't remember specifically which teams other than Atlanta.
