I don't have a problem with his mechanics. He's afraid, to a point, and that might improve, but it's like he shelved his swagger so now he's just a pussy.
FWIW, I think Smitty got upset because he went to Beason, and because of that feels like Clausen doesn't respect him. It has nothing to do with Smith, and while I can't fault his frustration, a guy on his last strike doesn't need to bad mouth players to media. Beason himself learned that lesson, but Smith never did.
The problem is, he's partially right. That entire offense, him included, needs to apologize.
