What happened to him. He was considered a first rounder at one time but he fell all the way to seventh.

I don't think many people can honestly say they saw him lasting to day 2, let alone to the 7th round. I rated him in the #70 range...wacky stuff.

I said all along that he sucked.

I never said he was god, but he was hot and cold. One series he'd be extremely disruptive and just rip it up, the next he'd get punked. Still think he has great potential, but it's motivating him that would be the trick.

Golic said he'd just try to penetrate and run straight ahead every play. Assuming he wasn't blocked, he'd either run into the play if the play happened to be going where he was, or he'd run himself out of the play.

It is crazy how much the mocks and experts can be off on players. When all the drafts show him as no worse than a second or third rounder and he goes in the seventh then it makes you wonder if anyone really knows what the consensus among GMs and Coahes really is. Obviously they all were down on Wright.

Yes. Dave Te's sight has a best of the rest list, along with the rounds he originally had them ranked. About 1/3 of his ranked 3rd rounders are there. TFY has the sense not to put their origninal ranking so it won't be so obvious.

Have a friend who's a Longhorns fan . . . he hates Wright, says the guy only plays when he feels like it and seems to just give up on plays and even whole series of downs. He can just disappear.
friend has been calling him way overrated for quite a while now and doubted that he would be drafted.

From countdown -
“An underachiever / Motor very questionable / Lacks desire”

some staffs will overlook that first one …
stamina can sometimes make the "questionable motor" thing fixable …
That third one is the nail in the coffin. Either a guy lives and breaths football or he’d rather be playing Madden on Xbox.
I guess Roddy would rather have the game controller in his hands than a football
