Michael Jordan played his final home game last night in Washington. Tonight he ends his career (?) in Philadelphia.

On a night full of on and off-court activities to celebrate the career of the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan was honored during his final home game in Washington Monday evening by Abe and Irene Pollin, the Wizards, and United States Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld.
“This is a celebration of Michael’s career,” said Washington Sports and Entertainment Chairman Abe Pollin. “Michael has brought so much to the game of basketball, and we want to show him that we appreciate all he has done for this city and the organization.”
In honor of what Michael Jordan has meant to Washington and the game of basketball during his 15-year career, Abe and Irene Pollin will launch a Computer Lab and Reading Center in each of the 18 public high schools in the District of Columbia, providing 15 computers for each school valued at over $250,000. The Computer Lab and Reading Centers donated on behalf of Jordan will be in place in each of the schools prior to the start of the next school year.
“We felt this was an appropriate way to honor Michael and, at the same time leave an imprint on the Washington, D.C. community,” said Pollin. “Michael shares my interest in education and the welfare of young people, and high school students in every Washington, D.C. public high school will benefit from this gift.”
Prior to the start of the game, Rumsfeld presented Jordan with a flag that was flown over The Pentagon to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the September 11 tragedy. Jordan showed his support to The Pentagon Relief fund when he donated his entire 2001-02 salary to support Pentagon relief efforts.
