Renting PC's

I may have a consulting job out of town that may require me to carry a laptop for roughly 3 weeks. Has anyone ever rented a laptop andif so what would it cost? I would be staying in a hotel while there arn't the telephone lines different in hotels? Such that it could fry a modem?

I connect with my laptop all the time in hotels, never had a problem.

I've used mine anywhere I could find a phone line. Be sure to take a listing of your local access numbers. Don't have a clue regarding renting laptops.

If I have to take the trip I will grab a AOL CD and just use it. Company has limited laptops for use and the bosses kids usually have them tied up in chatrooms from home

If the laptop has an ethernet port, simply pay the freakin 9.95 a day for high speed. I travel from Portland Maine, to Texas, to Atlanta, to Florida... most hotels worth a shit offer high speed. From there, you need no connection or no AOL BS.

your boss should provide you with a laptop if it is required
