Campbell did allright this week. 55%, almost 200 yards, 2 TDs. We've gotta confuse the shit out of him. May be a good sign that we blitzed so well this week, because traditionally you go after a young guy. It's not such a good sign that Cooley was their leading receiver - certainly, he'll get targets this week. Guess we'll see how good TD really is.

Their running game was awful. 64 yards, 18 on one play. Anyone catch the game to know how that one run went? Tampa sacked them twice (one on a blitz) and hurried him 8 times (BTW, today's gamebook states that we hurried the QB 7 times, 2 of them being TD's, and we were hurried 4).

Their DBs make a lot of their tackles. Lot of names there, but they came in to this week 32nd.
The front four has a few names you'll recognize, but not because they did anything this year.

Btw Skin should get Moss back this week

I watched the game. Carolina will chew up Washington and spit them out. Here's a breakdown of the team as I've seen (seen almost every game, here in Virginia)

QB - Campbell is about what you expect, cannon arm, is taking the easy reads, like Cooley and Betts. Did pretty well when protected, not so much when he wasn't, although he did have one pretty throw to Thrash today with someone draped around him, looked McNabbesque.

RB's - Betts has played well in a backup role, and sucked pole today when starting. Look for more of Duckett playing next week.

O-line-Overall, pretty good group, look even better when Portis is playing. I don't expect the Panthers to have as much success against them as against the Rams. Better in run blocking than pass protection.

TE - Cooley is outstanding and underrated. Does everything well.

WR's - Don't believe they will be much of a factor, haven't been all season. Even if Moss is back, don't look for him to have more than 3 catches, 50 yards. Lloyd hasn't done much. Main two pass catchers of late have been Thrash and Randel-El, who is superb on special teams as well.

Defense

D-line - Other than Cornelius Griffin (who is very good), they suck out loud.

LB's - Other than Marcus Washington (who is very good), they suck out loud.

Secondary - They ALL suck out loud.

You don't get to be the 30th ranked defense on a fluke. DW and DF could have another large day.

Toll Booth - any given sunday.

They have a far superior run defense than the Rams. They've only allowed 4 20 yard runs ( vs. Rams 12 ), only 3.9 ypc ( vs. Rams 5.2 ). I find it highly unlikely that we can control the ball and overcome the mistakes we made Sunday and still win against Wash.

They can stop our run if they want. Whether they can do it without single coverage against Smitty and Key is another question.

They have allowed more passing TD's than anyone in the league ( 20 ), and have the fewest interception of anyone in the league ( 3 ), as well as the fewest sacks ( 13 ).

So - we can throw it on them.

They also only have 4 fumble recoveries - 7 total takeaways.

Don't bet on it. The last game I saw the Panthers chew somebody up and spit them out was against the Giants last year. They aren't doing that this year for sure. It would be nice, but I'll believe it when I see it. I'll be happy with a win period.

I bet Richardson would love to beat the shit out of Synder.

I went up there last time the Panthers played up there. Should have beaten the shit out of them but lost. I am not taking anything for granted

We might beat the skins the way we have been playing but after that our offense is going to have to start clicking.

Where was Carter yesterday? Sounds like we should just throw most of the time next week (not that we will). I wanna beat the fucking Foreskins. We've only beaten them 1 time in 9 tries. Time to turn it around.

I honestly think teams have so much ridiculous success passing the ball against the skins, they dont run so much. When you commit to the run as the Bucs did yesterday (having come into the game averaging around 81 ypg, if memory serves), you can do that too. Skins did ok against the run in the first half, then fell completely apart in the second, gave up over 170 yards on the ground. Since Jake has yet to light it up against anyone this year, I expect this tactic for us as well.

I just noticed the bucs ran the ball 42 times Sunday, averaged 4.3 ypc. The Bucs had been a pretty bad run team this year - they average ( after this game ) 23 attempts per game.

They threw it 21 times.

Here's hoping we can control the clock, rest the defense, and dominate like we did last week - without the stupid mistakes.
