Kamara surprised me a bit. We have family in eastern TN who bleed orange and love their Volunteers, so we have seen him often on Saturdays. He was impressive in the drills. Fast, solid receiving, and has great quickness.

Cook also looked terrific. And Fournette; wow. Size and that kind of quickness to boot.

But I have to say, I think McCaffrey may have helped himself the most. He is fast (4.48) forty, 37.5' vertical, and caught better than our own WR's ( in fact, he made it look too easy as it seems so natural for him). At 202#, this will hurt him relative to straight-ahead plowing through the line size, but he could also return kicks, so maybe a great value.

Kamara's 40 time wasn't what people had hoped for, but he led all running backs in the vertical and broad jump, illustrating his considerable lower body strength. Fornette's poor vertical is a bit of a concern. I was pretty surprised that Cook & McCaffrey didn't run a lot faster, although at least Christian's agility numbers were sensational. He's quicker than Cook and catches passes better than Cook. He wouldn't work in this offense, but put him in a system that will utilize his talents and he should be really dynamic.


Unfortunately, Forrest Lamp killed it on the bench press and the agility drills, so he's not falling to #40. Even if the short arms mean a lot of teams won't risk him as a tackle he's done enough to be a first round guard. Garrett Boles also had a very strong showing and cemented himself as the most athletic tackle prospect.

Read some articles and listened to some podcasts on the RBs. One of the rotoworlds podcasts mentioned how Fournette had much more success running out of traditional run sets as opposed to running out of the gun.
We run out of the gun a good bit even though we use power concepts. Who knows what the evolution of the offense is going to look like, but I still think we don't have to absolutely have a bruising rb.

Cook was at his best with a lead blocking fullback, which we don't use much, and he was far better outside the tackles than inside them. He's a bad fit for the Panthers' offense.
