Rams match offers for Butler, Manumaleuna

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The St. Louis Rams matched offers Friday for two restricted free agents, cornerback Jerametrius Butler and tight end Brandon Manumaleuna.
The Rams matched the Washington Redskins' $15 million, six-year contract offer with Butler and the Carolina Panthers' $8.3 million, five-year offer to Manumaleuna.
The Rams can match any offer on a restricted free agent. If the team elects not to match, the club that signs the player gives up a draft pick from the round the player was originally drafted from.
Butler, a fifth-round draft choice in 2001, started 15 regular season games in 2003. He finished with 95 tackles, tied for the team lead with four interceptions and tied for third with 11 pass breakups.
Manumaleuna, drafted in the fourth-round in 2001, had 29 receptions for 238 yards and two touchdowns. He gained 15 rushing yards on four carries lining up in the backfield.
