anybody listening to what this nimrod larry kennedy is saying? hes trying to compare nba,nfl,mlb players to nascar drivers saying nascar drivers are just as big of thugs because spencer hit busch, and because jeff gordon cheated on his wife. if you HAVE BEEN LISTENING it sounds like what he wants to say is that nascar gets away with more because they are white. hes just too much of a pussy to say it.

Larry Kennedy says things just to get people stirred up. Best thing to do with LK is to simply ignore him. Of course he's going to say something like that.

As much as I hate to say it, in some ways LK was right. Overstating his case a bit but there is some truth. There is more than enough material to fill the National Enquirer on a weekly basis.

The relationship between NASCAR & the press is different from other sports. Each week, the same reporters cover the same drivers/teams. Write too many articles critical of a driver, you lose your access to him. Write too many articles critical of the sport, you lose your access to the sport. The press and the sport have a very different, and closer relationship, IMO, than do the stick & ball guys.

Hell, NASCAR lied about Tim Richmond for years with the assistance of the good old boy press network and tried their best to erase him from the sport's history. That won't work anymore.

Thanks to the new national exposure because of the Network TV deals, NASCAR and it's drivers are under more of a microscope than before. It's still a long way from what the stick & ball sports deal with, but the time is coming when a scandal will rock the sport.
