Fox says that he won’t be game planning for anyone in preseason but who else thinks he’ll throw in plenty in the coming week to try and exact a little revenge? IMO his emphasis on winning does not seem any different in preseason than in post season and I bet he’s going to treat the Pats game more like a regular season game than any preseason game he has coached.
What to watch -
If we can contain Dillon with the luxury of an excellent line in front of him then we can handle any running game we will face this year.
The quality and depth of their O-line will be the toughest test (by a huge margin) and especially their subs against ours will help to weed out any possible new D-line keepers.
Our green secondary against Brady (AND their other QBs) with that quick drop passing game. Should provide some invaluable lessons on handling what every team we face will try and copy against us to some degree this year.
Our new patchwork O-line against the huge challenge of Belichicks shifty D. From all I can tell they are at full strength (unlike the G men) and they have effectively replaced Washington with “Tractor” Traylor and added a now healthy Colvin.
Can Delhomme pick up where he left off in the 2nd half of the super bowl? Not if our line can’t give him a little time and open some room for a running game. It should be a very telling night for whatever critical leaks need plugging immediately (ON O-LINE???) before the opener.
Admittedly we have played two weak opponents so far and this game will be a reality check on exactly where we are. I’m anxious to find out.
