Carolina Panthers

Overrated

MLB Dan Morgan. The tools are there, but he can't stay on the field. That puts him in this category.

Underrated

QB David Carr. He will take over as the team's starting quarterback at some point and show the Houston Texans they made a big mistake.

Let the debate begin...again.

I am not sure Morgan is over-rated by fans who follow the Panthers. Maybe he is in the national press. I think Kris Jenkins is the most over-rated player because he is still living off a reputation earned in 2003. No way he deserved a pro bowl last year.

As far as under-rated I can't see it with Carr. I really do not see him being our starter unless Jake gets hurt. The most under-rated is probably Rucker, he is still a really good DE when he is healthy. He played well last year.

Unless people are rating Morgan as someone who can stay on the field, don't know how he's over-rated. If the talent's there, the talent's the important part.

don't know how Carr can be under-rated. He's not shown it, but got lauded for years because he was a #1 overall at QB that didn't suck as bad as some.

rbs underated

carr is simply fantastic, not underated

jake sucks

gaines would be a pro bowler if we use him like a real tite end..he has the gift

our d is overated...were always terrible on 3nd down

gamble is underated as a return man

rip Noble WIllingham
a life cut way to short, a legacy never to be forgotten

Morgan is overrated, but not because of health. In fact, his injuries have probably preserved the notion that he's somehow a "great MLB when healthy." I've shown the numbers time and time again, but he's simply an average guy even when playing. He had a nice game in the Superbowl, but I don't know that anyone can think of a game he impacted in ways that Urlacher and others do regularly. He's just a guy and always has been.

As for Jenkins, he played really well last season, although not up to his previous dominance. The constant guessing got old, but he was very difficult to block and only hampered us when he took himself out of plays.

In any case, I don't think we have obviously underrated or overrated guys. Most seem to have a pretty decent conception of how good they are or aren't.

anybody think Peppers is a little overrated? i mean, he makes a freakish play here and there, but tends to just disappear at times and he hasn't dominated a game since detriot...

um, what? :ack2:

Did you miss last year's Cleveland game? That was arguably his most dominant game ever. I mean, on an almost terroristic level.

He dominated v Minnesota in 06, too.

Nah...he's rated just about where he should be.
