Peppers a draft day trade?

The article is telling it like it is. As poorly as he played last year he had Rucker on the other side. He wasn't even double teamed a lot late in the year.
Only for a top 10 pick and with reservations.

I am not opposed to trading him but his value is down right now. I doubt we get as much for him as the Chiefs got for Allen.

It might be better to let him play out his contract and if he has a good year tag him. Then we could trade him and get a lot more for him. Of course if he sucks again then we will get less or nothing....

While we're at it why don't we trade Steve Smith too... his numbers were down last year also.

His numbers were actually quite good given our struggles at QB. Peppers has no excuse for his numbers falling off the edge of the earth. He has always been over rated and streaky, IMHO.

Gievn the right deal I could see trading Peppers. But to be honest I just don't see how the Panthers could get his true value back in a deal. After last season I'm not sure anyone would fork over a #1 for him and really, this draft sucks for pass rushing ends so we would be in tough spot replacing both Rucker AND Peppers. Can't see it happening myself.

P.S. If 2008 Peppers is like 2007 Peppers we couldn't give him away to a CFL team.

Yeah, if he has a repeat season, we just let him walk and dust our hands.
